ROCKY MOUNTAIN WILD | EMILY ROBINSON
Born in Denver, Colorado, returning home has always meant more than geography—it’s a return to the artists who shaped me and helped rebuild life. Over decades, I’ve learned that the most influential originators aren’t distant icons; they’re in my own circle. The music that lives in my head was written by the friend who stayed true to his craft long after high school. The haircuts and tattoos my child recognizes me by were created by friends whose hands I trust.
From the Rocky Mountains to Huntsville, I’m surrounded by culinary powerhouses, photographers, painters—people I started ballet with 35 years ago—who have grown into parents, leaders, and quiet visionaries. These creatives carry strength and connection into every corner of their daily lives, building their art in studios that look like kitchens, classrooms, shops, and late-night conversations.
They are brilliant, empathetic, everyday life-changers—people who know how to speak soul to soul. Busy, gifted, deeply connected, they show up in moments of joy and loss alike to remind you: I see you. I support you. You’ll be okay. We have always built together. And that’s why they are here—not just for the build, but for the rebuild.
There are friendships that witness your becoming—and then there are the rare ones that help shape it. This gallery is dedicated to one of those people for me.

ANNOUNCING COLORADO SPRING and SUMMER AVAILABILITY MARCH 2026
Emily and I attended high school together and later found ourselves working side by side in Denver’s arts community for many years, orbiting the same shows, studios, and creative risks. Long before life layered on titles like wife and mother, she was already an artist—observant, intuitive, and brave. That artistic life-force never left her. It simply evolved.
“Besides the challenges and reminding myself that I’m also human, parenting has been a journey.”
Emily grew up in Ciudad Bolívar and Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, places rich with color, rhythm, and ritual. Like so many questioning their coming of age, there was a season when imposter syndrome crept in—when distance from her roots felt easier than carrying them forward. But this moment, captured here, is a return. A quiet, powerful coming back.
THIS MUST BE THE PLACE
Today, she weaves culture into daily life with intention and joy. Music and food aren’t saved for special occasions—they are the heartbeat of the home. Hallacas, pernil, pan de jamón, empanadas. Gaitas and salsa playing through holidays and ordinary afternoons alike. As her children grow and ask deeper questions, she finds herself relearning, remembering, and reclaiming pieces of herself alongside them. Parenting, she’ll tell you honestly, is both awesome and a crash course in humanity. You learn something new every day—in all its facets. Her kids, ten and eight, are wonderfully themselves all while thriving because of their individualism and the constant support of both their parents. And in between the noise are the moments that make everything worth it—the way they help each other, the way they love each other. Sophia melts into head rubs. Nicholas prefers his back and feet. These details matter. They always have to her.
She is also one of the most dear and supportive friends I know—steadfast, generous, and deeply present. The kind of woman who shows up without needing to be asked. The kind who sees you. Most of our adventures are wild ideas over time that are jump started by, {shrug} “I'm game”.
THE BUILD & THE REBUILD
Her husband, Chris, brings his own story of craft and return. With a background in construction from his years growing up in New York State (Schenectady/Albany area), working with his hands was always calling him back. Together, they poured themselves into upgrading their Lakewood home last summer—a project that sold within four months and offered a much-needed sense of catharsis, a closing of a chapter.
That momentum sparked something new. Chris launched Better Builder Roofing and Construction, LLC, returning fully to his craft. Roof by roof, they’re building again—quite literally. Colorado weather has a sense of humor (as we shivered in the sun all afternoon), but hail season or not, they’ve got homeowners covered. Their family’s way of sheltering and protecting your family.
This gallery isn’t just about fashion. The movement and textures and her natural beauty joined with my go-to neutral color pallet to focus on the now. Nature as we were in it but a collision of the minds and ideas that influence our perspectives. It’s about lineage, resilience, and the ways that creativity shows up in motherhood, partnership, friendship, and home. It’s about honoring where you come from—sinking into your new home and community and choosing, again and again, to come back to yourself.
